What We Believe

Our core beliefs.

WE BELIEVE...

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it is inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives (2 Timothy 3:15-16).

There is only one true God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; I John 5:7).

In the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1-4; I Timothy 3:16).

In the virgin birth of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:18-24).

In the sinless life of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15).

In the substitutionary and atoning death of Jesus Christ (Isaiah 53:1-7; Romans 5:8-11).

In the resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:1-7; John 20:19-20).

In the ascension of Jesus Christ to Heaven and that He will return to earth one day as both Lord and King (Acts 1:9-11; Matthew 25:31).

In the Lordship of Jesus Christ and that faith in Him is the only way that a person may be saved and enter into Heaven (Colossians 1:13-18; John 14:6; Romans 5:1).

That a person is saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).

That every follower of Jesus Christ is to be water baptized (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)

.

In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit to enable believers to live holy lives (I Peter 1:2-4; I John 3:4-9; Galatians 5:16).

That the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an endowment of power available to every Christian at or subsequent to conversion (Acts 2:1-4, 16-18, 38-39; Acts 8:14-17; Acts 9:17; Acts 10:44-47; Acts 19:1-8).

That the fruit of the Spirit is to be evident in the life of every believer as a result of Spirit-controlled living (Galatians 5:22-27).

That the gifts of the Spirit are in operation in the church today (Romans 12:6-8; I Corinthians 12-14; Ephesians 4:11).

That God gave Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13).

That the local church is to be led by a plurality of Elders (Acts 14:23; Acts 15:22; Acts 20:17, 28; I Timothy 5:17; Titus 1:5).

In eternal life for the saved and eternal damnation for the lost (I John 2:24-25; Revelation 14:10-11; Revelation 20:15).

That Heaven and Hell are real places (2 Corinthians 12:1-4; Revelation 4:1-2; Mark 9:42-48; Revelation 2:11-15).

That marriage is between one man and one woman. This is stated in Genesis 2:24, confirmed by Jesus in Mathew 19:4-6 and upheld by the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 5:31. (For this reason, we do not officiate or use our facilities for any marriage ceremony that does not meet this Biblical standard.)
